Veterinary Assistant - Happy Valley Animal Hospital

We’re hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our growing animal hospital.

Pay

$19 - $22 / hour

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with medical procedures under their direct supervision
• Help create positive, lasting impressions and build trust and loyalty with clients and their pets
• Provide written and verbal communication to clients regarding their pet’s care, including answering questions, educating them on treatments, and gaining consent for treatment plans
• Deliver WOW customer service to clients and their pets
• Manage medical records through practice management software
• Dispense medication, perform x-rays, perform blood draws, place catheters, obtain samples, provide treatments, run diagnostic equipment, administer vaccines, and provide animal restraint when necessary
• Set-up, breakdown, cleaning, and maintaining of medical equipment
• Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital

Requirements

• Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly friends with calm and compassion
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Able to lift at least 40 pounds

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technician (preferred)
• Associate degree in veterinary assisting (preferred)
