About the role
Since June of 1982, The Southside Veterinary Clinic has been serving Bixby, Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Haskell, Jenks, Mounds, and the surrounding communities. We provide dog or cat wellness care, dental cleaning, x-rays, routine spay and neuter, and other surgeries. We also offer high-rated boarding services at our onsite kennel.
Responsibilities
- Aid veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment
- Monitor hospitalized pets
- Maintain inventory
- Prepare prescriptions
- Perform routine in-house laboratory work
- Inform clients about veterinary care and procedures
- Assist with surgical procedures
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
