Veterinary Assistant Level 2

Job Summary

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistants (Level 2) to join their Emergency and Critical Care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-notch client experience
• Provide emergency nursing care to patients following attending doctor’s orders
• Participate in patient care from triage to treatments, discharge, transfer, or euthanasia
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the hospital and kennels
• Assist doctors (DVMs) and technicians as needed

Requirements

• At least 1 year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience

• A genuine love of and respect for all animals
• An appreciation of the human-animal bond

Benefits

• Wage: $23-$26 per hour depending on experience, education, and certifications
• Overnight and weekend differential pay for applicable shifts
• Flexible 3/4 rotating schedule with 10-hour shifts including 1 weekend day per week

Pay and Schedule

• Hourly wage: $23-$26 per hour
• Overnight and weekend differential pay
• Schedule: 3/4 rotating schedule with 10-hour shifts including 1 weekend day per week
• Consistent schedule with 3 or 4 days off in a row every week

What We Are Looking For In A Candidate

• At least 1 year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience
