Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
- Drawing blood and running bloodwork
- Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understanding the importance of client education
- Being a positive and motivating team member
Requirements
- 3+ years clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or receptionist
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to perform basic exam procedures
- Skilled in venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assistance preferred
- Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratory
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Able to obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
- Able to perform basic exam procedures
- Able to communicate effectively with clients

Pay
The hourly pay range for this position starts $22.00 - $28.00, this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, and location.
