Veterinary Assistant
About the role
Paws Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. Responsibilities
- Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
- Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery as directed by the veterinary team
- Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
Requirements
- 5+ years of veterinary assistant experience
- Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Experience assisting with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Ability to collect patient histories and obtain patient weights and vital signs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
Qualifications

Pay
$18 - $20 per hour, for each hour worked
