Key Responsibilities

• Aid veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

Northside Veterinary Clinic was established in 1997 and is located in the vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for your pets and creating a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Our services include routine and emergency care, as well as alternative therapies like Chinese and Western herbal therapy, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, craniosacral therapy, and laser therapy. Schedule

This is a full-time position averaging 35–40 hours per week, four 10-hour shifts. Candidates must have availability Monday through Friday (8:45 AM–6:00 PM) and Saturdays (8:45 AM–4:00 PM).

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
