The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation is seeking a Direct Service Associate III (Dental Assistant State Role) to assist and facilitate the delivery of competent and safe dental care and treatment to residents.

About the role

Assist and facilitate the delivery of competent and safe dental care and treatment to residents. Assist with technique and experience in four-handed dentistry. Conduct a preventative oral care program. Work with residents and non-compliant residents. Prioritize workload and schedule appointments. Use Microsoft Office applications. Experience with a forensic population preferred.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good planning/analytical decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of overall dental and oral care practices; dental terminology and practice.
  • Skilled in four handed dentistry.
  • Ability to assist other personnel in conducting an effective preventative oral care program.
  • Ability to work with residents and non-compliant residents.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and schedule resident’s appointments.
  • Skills set in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with a forensic population preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, good planning/analytical decision-making skills, knowledge of overall dental and oral care practices; dental terminology and practice, skilled in four handed dentistry, ability to assist other personnel in conducting an effective preventative oral care program, ability to work with residents and non-compliant residents, ability to prioritize workload and schedule resident’s appointments, skills set in Microsoft Office applications, and experience with a forensic population preferred.
