Veterinary Assistant

Primary Pet Care in Stow, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team. We’re a two-doctor small animal practice offering wellness care, dentistry, spay and neuter procedures, and urgent care services.

Responsibilities

• Gather thorough patient histories and obtain relevant information for appointments
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient care
• Assist with sample collection and diagnostic procedures based on experience
• Support dental, surgical, wellness, and urgent care appointments
• Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
• Maintain clear, complete, and accurate medical records
• Keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean, organized, and well stocked
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain an efficient daily workflow
• Jump in where needed to help the team deliver exceptional patient care

Requirements

• Previous Veterinary Assistant experience
• Confidence handling and restraining patients safely
• Professional and compassionate communication with clients and coworkers
• Strong client education skills
• Dependability and a team-first mindset
• Ability to stay organized and productive in a busy clinical environment
• Willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for veterinary medicine
• Desire to continue learning and growing professionally
