Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Urgent Care Animal Hospital in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team. The hospital is located at 2100 S Gilbert Rd #7, Chandler, AZ 85286. The schedule is full-time, following an alternative work week pattern with one weekend day and holiday coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Skills include, but are not limited to:
• Pharmacy and medication administration
• Laboratory sample collection and processing
• Diagnostics imaging
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Medical recordkeeping
• Caregiving and compassionate patient care
• Greeting clients and bringing them into the exam room
• Providing excellent client service and communication
• Creating, presenting, and explaining treatment plans according to the veterinarian's directions
• Reviewing discharge instructions, including medications, with clients
• Checking out and collecting payments in the exam room

Qualifications

• Preferred 3 years of veterinary experience in a general practice or emergency setting
• Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and high pace
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Willingness to assist as needed
• Able to work collaboratively and in a team environment
• High attention to detail
