Veterinary Assistant
About the role
Edgebrook Animal Hospital, located in East Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate should enjoy working with both people and animals, be flexible in their availability, and possess strong multi-tasking and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Help set the tone for the client’s appointment by building and maintaining trust and confidence in the veterinary team.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up after appointments.
- Manage medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.
- Answer questions regarding products and services, including non-medical pet care.
- Recommend, select, and obtain products and services, including prescriptions.
- Perform hospital maintenance, including removing animal waste and keeping the facility neat and clean.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting.
- Flexibility in hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Team player with a willingness to learn new techniques and treatments.
- Excellent multi-tasking and follow-through skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with animals and people.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18-$24/hr.
Schedule
