Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Animal Healing Center is seeking a Full Time or Part Time Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. Located in a historical house in scenic Yardley, PA, we offer a unique blend of holistic and conventional veterinary services.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and laboratory work
• Maintain medical records and fill prescriptions
• Catheter placement and assist with radiology
• Participate in physical examinations and patient assessments
• Prepare and assist with surgical procedures
• Handle pharmacy duties and patient recovery
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and treatments

Qualifications

• Documented experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician
• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of medical software
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
• Passion for providing exceptional client and patient care

Skills

• Basic veterinary skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, and physical examinations
