About the role

VCA Shaker Road Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. Located in East Longmeadow, MA, we are a 2-doctor full-service veterinary hospital offering primary care, illness care, surgery, and dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Compassionate patient care

• Anesthesia and surgery assisting

• Catheter placement
• Venipuncture
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Medical recordkeeping

Requirements

• Positive and motivated personality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures

Qualifications

• Credential as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT)
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred

Pay

$19 - $24 / hour, based on skill set and experience.

Schedule

Full time, Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.
