Veterinary Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team at VCA Mountain View Animal Hospital. Located at 9414 South Indian Ridge Drive, Sandy, UT 84092, this position offers full-time, 8-hour shifts with Saturday requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Support the Technician and Doctor teams by assisting with patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Fulfill prescription needs (as allowed by law).
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for hospitalized animals with compassion.
• Maintain medical records and ensure a clean, safe hospital environment.
• Assist the Doctor and Technician teams as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.

• Assisting the Doctor and Technician teams as needed.
