Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. Established in 1975, we serve the communities of Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Dennis, Orleans, and surrounding areas on Cape Cod. Our hospital offers a wide range of services including medical care, bathing, wellness exams, preventive care, vaccinations, diagnostics, spays, neuters, dental procedures, and advanced orthopedic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and patient assessments
• Monitor and manage procedural anesthesia
• Administer IV fluids and calculate CRI values
• Assist with hands-free radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Communicate effectively with clients during consultations and discharges

Requirements

• Positive and motivated attitude
• Experience in veterinary settings preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Credential as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or equivalent
• Current certification in CPR for Veterinarians
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures

Pay

$20 - $25/hr based on skill set, experience, and licensure status
