Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Hualapai Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. This full-time position offers 35-40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Winning the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience.
• Utilizing skills such as restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Providing compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Aiding the Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.

Qualifications

• A strong background in customer service.
• Comfortable with client education and presenting treatment plans.
• Experience with basic veterinary procedures and equipment.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
