Veterinary assistant

About the role

VCA Kickingbird Animal Hospital is a busy practice in Edmond, OK, with 7 doctors and a welcoming atmosphere. You will support the technician and doctor teams by providing excellent client service and performing various veterinary tasks.

Responsibilities

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Providing compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in veterinary settings preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and handle stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
