Veterinary Assistant
About the role
A motivated Veterinary Assistant is needed to join our growing overnight team at Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey. This position supports pets' care and educates clients.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and advocate for pets.
- Facilitate outpatient treatments and perform laboratory tests.
- Assist with preparing for surgeries and procedures, including anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience required.
- Experience in an emergency or surgical setting preferred.
- Must have overnight availability.
- Experience with anesthesia preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Pay
Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $17-$19/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Schedule
Overnight shift differential offered!
