About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic professional to join our highly qualified team as a full-time veterinary assistant.
Responsibilities
- Aid with patient care and treatment
- Maintain inventory and stock
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
- Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
- Aiding with routine diagnostic tests
- Maintain and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital
- Administer medications under veterinarian/vet tech supervision
- Feed and bathe animals
- Answer phones
- Help clients with their pets
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience with veterinary appointments performing above duties
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
Qualifications
- Preferred: Veterinary Technician experience

Pay
The base hourly range for this position is $16-$18. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Hourly wage strongly dependent on experience!
Our hospital operates on a flexible schedule, offering 10 hour shifts, 8 hour shifts, day shifts, evening shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
