Core Responsibilities
- Aid technicians with patient restraint
- Maintain surveillance of recovering surgical patients
- Walk hospitalized or boarded patients as directed
- Refresh water and bedding in cages as needed
- Report patient concerns immediately to a technician or doctor
- Clean and reset exam rooms between appointments
- Ensure rooms are stocked and prepared
- Support treatment area organization
- Keep treatment tables wiped and ready
- Assist with moving patients as needed
- Manage laundry and sanitation tasks
- Keep laundry rotating and restock towels and blankets
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area
- Absorb general cleaning tasks as assigned
- Assist with end-of-day cleaning responsibilities
- Prepare prescription labels (under technician supervision)
- Pull medications for technician verification
- Avoid clutter on the tech station
- Sign sympathy cards promptly
Qualifications
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment area
- Dispose of waste appropriately
- Ensure floors remain dry and hazard-free
- Follow OSHA and hospital safety protocols
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have previous animal handling experience (preferred)
- Be able to lift 40+ pounds
- Be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Show strong attention to detail
- Show a positive attitude and team mindset
- Desire to learn and grow in veterinary medicine
