Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, treatments, and procedures
• Comfortably and safely handle animals during examinations and medical care
• Prepare vaccines and support patient treatments under veterinary direction
• Collect and process diagnostic samples for in-house testing and outside laboratories
• Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized
• Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation
• Educate clients on patient care instructions and assist with follow-up communication
• Work collaboratively to provide an outstanding experience for both clients and patients

Requirements

• Previous experience in a veterinary practice or animal healthcare setting
• Confidence handling and restraining companion animals safely and compassionately
• Experience collecting laboratory samples and performing technical veterinary assistant duties
• Familiarity with Avimark software is helpful but not required
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
• A dependable work ethic and a positive, team-focused attitude
• Availability to work every other Saturday

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Virginia State license as a Veterinary Assistant (if applicable)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office

Pay

$18.00–$21.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

Availability to work every other Saturday
