About the role

Northern Michigan Veterinary Hospital, located minutes from Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, Michigan, is seeking a full‑time veterinarian to serve as Chief of Staff. The practice is a full‑service clinic caring for canines, felines, and exotics in a clean, modern, state‑of‑the‑art facility. Our team of three Licensed Veterinary Technicians and two Veterinary Assistants has many members with over five years of tenure, and we pride ourselves on collaborative, efficient patient care and strong community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a dynamic, collaborative veterinary team.
• Provide high‑quality medical care to dogs, cats, and exotic animals.
• Engage in client education and community outreach.
• Work closely with highly trained technical staff to ensure efficient patient flow from intake to discharge.
• Support and expand the hospital’s reputation for exceptional medicine in the local community.
• Participate in and promote staff wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinarian with experience in a full‑service practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a veterinary team.
• Experience caring for canines, felines, and exotics.
• Strong communication skills for client education and staff mentorship.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional ethics.
