Veterinarian - Ventura, CA

About the Role

We are seeking a part-time veterinarian to join our AAHA-accredited hospital in Ventura, California. Our practice is committed to providing exceptional veterinary care with a philosophy of treating every patient as we would our own loved ones. We offer a collaborative environment with a 3+ staff-to-doctor ratio, allowing you to focus on delivering top-notch medical care.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced tools, including dental digital radiography, digital radiography (with board-certified review), Mindray ultrasound, Idexx CBC/Chem/Electrolyte/PT/PTT/T4 machines, anesthetic monitoring (ECG, Doppler, CO₂, Oxygen, Vetcorder), Hot Dog warming blankets, IV fluid pumps, heated cages, and two wet tables. We also have a dedicated surgery suite, isolation area, three exam rooms, a pharmacy, lab, small kitchen, and a beautiful outdoor enclosed patio for staff and clients.

We see a variety of exotic pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, turtles, and lizards. Our team has strong relationships with nearby specialty hospitals for consultation and referrals.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality veterinary care to patients, adhering to our practice philosophy of treating every patient like family.
• Collaborate with an experienced veterinarian during your shifts for case discussion and support.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings on Tuesday mornings.
• Engage in ongoing learning and case review through Slack group discussions and Veterinary Information Network (VIN).

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a veterinarian (new graduates are welcome).
• Interest or experience in exotic pet care is a plus.
• Commitment to a 4-day workweek (Tuesday–Saturday, 10-hour shifts).

Pay

Base salary range: $140,000–$165,000, with production-based bonuses.

Schedule

4-day workweek: Tuesday–Saturday, 10-hour shifts.
