Veterinarian Medical Director - Ohana Pet Hospital

About the role

Ohana Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced veterinarian to lead our team as Medical Director. This role focuses on our Santa Paula team and is a full-time position with flexible scheduling (Monday-Saturday, ideally four days each week).

Responsibilities

• Lead the medical team and ensure high-quality patient care
• Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with AAHA standards
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior veterinarians and technicians
• Develop and implement hospital policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall patient care
• Participate in community outreach and educational events

Requirements

• 5+ years of general practice and/or emergency receiving experience
• DVM or VMD degree
• Valid California veterinary license and ability to obtain a DEA license
• Exceptional leadership skills (prior Medical Director experience is a plus)
• Excellent client communication and customer service skills
• A dedication to lifelong learning and staying up-to-date with industry developments

Qualifications

Pay

The salary range for this opportunity is $130,000 - $165,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Full-time doctors work 3-4 shifts per week, Monday-Saturday.
