About the role

Saugus Animal Hospital is seeking a Lead DVM / Medical Director to join our dedicated team. As the Medical Director, you will lead the medical department, provide clinical oversight, and mentor junior veterinarians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the medical staff
  • Mentor and develop junior veterinarians
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with the practice manager and other departments to maintain high standards of care
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for the practice
  • Manage the medical department budget and ensure efficient use of resources

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an ACVIM accredited program
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in small animal practice
  • Board certification in a specialty area preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience with medical record keeping and electronic health records systems
  • Knowledge of current veterinary practices and technologies
  • Passion for veterinary medicine and a commitment to excellence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay

Competitive base salary with monthly production compensation and no negative accrual.
