Veterinarian – General Practice
About the role
Belair Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, client- and pet-tailored 4-DVM practice located just minutes outside Washington, DC. We are expanding our team to accommodate a growing clientele and maintain our reputation for high-standard care in the community. Our collaborative approach to veterinary medicine emphasizes continuous learning and exceptional client service.
Our 3,500-square-foot facility includes a full surgery suite, dental suite, treatment area, and pharmacy. The team consists of 8 veterinary technicians/assistants (with over 60 years of combined experience), 4 client care representatives, and a hospital manager. We treat small animals and exotics and have served the community for over 40 years. Diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, and in-house blood machines.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to dogs, cats, and exotics (birds, reptiles, rodents).
- Collaborate with a tight-knit team of veterinarians and support staff.
- Maintain high standards of veterinary care and client service.
Work-Life Balance
- Closed on Sundays with no on-call or after-hour emergency duties (cases referred to a local ER).
- Practice closes by 6 PM Tuesday–Friday and 1 PM on Saturdays.
- Full-time position with ~4 shifts per week and rotating Saturdays.

Location
Located in Prince George’s County, between Washington, DC, and Annapolis, MD. The area offers proximity to DC attractions, the waterfront city of Annapolis, NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, the Washington Commanders, Andrews Air Force Base, the University of Maryland, Bowie State University, Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary, the National Agricultural Library, and the USDA’s Agricultural Research Center.
