Veterinarian – General Practice

About the role

We are looking for an eager, passionate and kind individual to join our team of DVMs. Newport Animal Hospital and its satellite locations serve communities along the beautiful southeastern Rhode Island coast. Our practice includes a team of 8 DVMs and 60 support staff who work hard and play hard. The Middletown hospital spans 12,100 sq. ft. and features a separate inpatient wing with a full surgical suite, two complete dentistry and oral surgery stations, and a boarding facility. Nearby clinics in Newport and Jamestown offer a charming, more personal environment, and all sites are linked in real‑time. Our equipment includes DR radiography and dental radiography, GE Versana Premier Ultrasound, in‑house blood chemistry and hematology, infusion pumps, state‑of‑the‑art multi‑parameter anesthetic monitors, portable sphygmomanometers, class IV therapy laser, and Tonovet. We emphasize teamwork and mentorship, supported by a dedicated technician training manager and an established DVM mentorship program. Many team members began their veterinary careers in our boarding facility and have progressed to surgical technicians, DVMs, and Hospital Managers. We actively encourage continuing education, organizing and sponsoring opportunities for DVMs and support staff. Our doctor staff is enthusiastic, excelling clinically while also strengthening teamwork and client communication. The practice is affiliated with a boarded cardiologist and an internal medicine specialist, and our DVM team brings specialties and passions in dentistry, orthopedics (including TTA), canine reproduction, and acupuncture. All locations are within walking distance of the ocean, and Newport offers endless history, dining, recreation, breweries, wineries, gardens, hiking, sailing, harbor cruises, live music nightlife, and seaside sunsets.
