About the role
This is a full-time Night Shift position with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Homes serves South Dakota Veterans and their families through quality health care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Maintain medical records
- Monitor work of subordinates to ensure quality care is provided
- Operate a variety of medical equipment
- Make reports on observations
- Apply general nursing techniques and practices
- Communicate effectively
- Deal effectively with patients and staff
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or eligible to be licensed in the State of South Dakota
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices
- Ability to keep records, follow instructions, operate medical equipment, make reports, and communicate effectively
Qualifications
- Recent developments in the field of professional nursing applicable to the area of assignment
- On-the-job training is available

Pay
Starting pay will be $26.42 - $30.99, plus $5.00 per hour for night shifts and $1.50 per hour for weekend shifts.
Schedule
The position is a full-time Night Shift position.
