About the role
The Veterans Claims Representative is responsible for advocating for Veterans and their dependents seeking benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA). Key responsibilities include interviewing claimants, investigating/researching claims, approving claims, and representing clients in hearings.
Responsibilities
- Interviewing claimants to gather necessary information for claims processing
- Investigating/researching claims to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Advocating/recommending disposition of claims based on research and analysis
- Preparing and monitoring claims and appeals before DROs and BVA
- Representing and advising clients in USDVA hearings
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in at least three of the following areas: interviewing claimants, investigating/researching claims, advocating/recommending disposition of claims, approving claims, interpreting and applying guidelines, rules, laws, and/or policies and procedures, providing technical assistance, presenting at hearings or conferences
- To be eligible, applicants must meet the criteria defined in Minnesota Statutes 196.02, which includes being a citizen of the United States, a resident of Minnesota, and a Veteran of the armed forces of the United States.

Pay
$26.12 - $37.91 / hourly; $54,538 - $79,156 / annually
Schedule
Day shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
