About the role
Bryn Mawr Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Aid veterinarians during appointments and medical procedures
- Obtain patient histories, perform TPRs, and safely restrain patients
- Collect blood and laboratory samples
- Place IV catheters and administer medications and vaccines as directed
- Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples for outside labs
- Provide educational services to clients on medications, preventative care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and charges
- Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas remain clean, stocked, and organized
- Assist with surgical preparation and recovery as needed (surgery experience is a plus)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience
- Strong exam room and client communication skills
- Comfortable performing technical nursing duties including blood draws, catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Passion for providing exceptional patient care
Qualifications
- Passing scores on the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Exam)
- Current certification from the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB)
Skills
- Fear Free handling experience
- Interest in mentoring or taking on additional responsibilities
