About the role
You will play a critical role in supporting veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to animal patients. Your primary focus will be on assisting with clinical procedures, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and compassionate environment for animals and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Aid veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments to animal patients under veterinary supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and treatment areas.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress throughout hospitalization.
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, nutrition, and general animal health.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Support the hospital team in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: 1 - 2 years working in a Veterinary Hospital, Basic knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions, Experience with handling and restraining animals safely and humanely, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting, Proficiency in veterinary software for medical record keeping and appointment scheduling, Advanced knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and emergency care procedures, Excellent interpersonal skills for client communication and team collaboration, Continuing education or specialized training in areas such as dentistry, radiology, or surgical assistance.
