Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments
- Safely restrain and handle animals during procedures
- Prepare exam rooms, surgical areas, and medical equipment
- Clean and sanitize kennels, treatment areas, and hospital spaces
- Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs
- Assist with laboratory sample collection and processing
- Stock supplies and organize inventory
- Provide excellent customer service to clients in person and over the phone
- Support front desk and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals preferred, but not required
- Interest in veterinary medicine and animal care
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically active environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in stressful situations
- Willingness to learn and follow clinic protocols and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, kennel, or pet daycare
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Enrollment in or completion of a veterinary assistant or technician program is a plus
