About the role

VCA Mountainview Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their team. The hospital has a unique culture that values each person's individual skills and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Support the Technician and Doctor teams by restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Fulfill prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintain medical records.
• Aid the Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay and Schedule

• $18-20/hr.
• Full-time: one Saturday shift per month required.
