Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the national Vertical Transportation team to manage the design and engineering of vertical transportation systems for a variety of projects (aviation, healthcare, education, commercial).
  • Represent the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign various projects to be performed by the team (i.e., system design and project development).
  • Work in close contact with the entire design team to maintain interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/projects consultants.
  • Monitor all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc.
  • Prepare proposals and administer project contracts between Syska and the client.
  • Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process of completed work by staff.
  • Prepare vertical transportation analysis and perform system design calculations.
  • Select equipment for use in building systems and write reports.
  • Market capabilities both to internal and external clients.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to oversee entire team and coordinate design and engineering of vertical transportation systems.
  • Basic understanding of practical application of Vertical Transportation principles to building designs.
  • Experience in Aviation, Healthcare, Education, and Commercial projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the Vertical Transportation field.
  • Familiarity with latest versions of PDF (Bluebeam and/or Adobe), MS Excel, and Word.
  • Experience in elevator traffic analysis, design, and calculation software.
  • Possess basic understanding of proper system selection.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable codes.
  • Project management experience.
