About the role

The Van Buren is seeking a Security team member to guard, patrol, and monitor the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. This role may involve operating metal detector equipment, circulating among guests and employees to preserve safety, order, and venue property, monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure, writing reports, patrolling the premises, escorting individuals, operating detecting devices, and closing the venue after shows.

Responsibilities

• Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order, and protect the venue property.
• Maintain security and safety of the premises by monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals to specified locations or provide personal protection.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Show CARE by participating in the venue's sustainability program, such as implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste and educating fans about efforts.
• Partner with fellow band members at the end of shows to close the venue, which may include maintaining cleanliness.
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
• A Guard Card is preferred but not required.
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
• Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.

Qualifications

• Constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and occasional sitting.

Pay

Compensation information is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
