Responsibilities

• Circulate among guests and employees to maintain safety and order.
• Maintain security and safety of the premises by monitoring and authorizing entry and departure.
• Write daily activity reports and report irregularities such as equipment damage, theft, unauthorized persons, and unusual occurrences.
• Patrol the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Participate in sustainability programs, such as resource conservation and waste reduction.
• Close the venue after shows by collecting recyclables, picking up event equipment, and storing it properly.
• Warn and apprehend violators of venue rules.

Requirements

• NYS security license required before starting work.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Security/Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Guard Card a plus.
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures.
• Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.

Qualifications

• Constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and occasional sitting.

Benefits

The expected compensation for this position is $17.00 USD - $19.00 USD per hour. Pay is based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
