Venue Event Staffer (Part-Time)
Pay: $18/hr
About the role
As a venue event staffer for The Garden, you will be the venue representative on-site who ensures events run smoothly and that the venue is maintained. Shifts will be during private events and include setup and cleanup before, during, and after events. Venue event staffers ensure the venue provides promised services to clients and that the clients abide by the terms of their rental contracts. You will report to the Event Coordinator. We offer flexible scheduling—you choose the shifts you’d like to work! Shifts are primarily on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with some weeknight shifts, including our Open House nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
- Open & close the building
- Set up tables and chairs in predetermined layouts
- Assist clients with venue-related needs as they set up for their events (A/V setup and troubleshooting, signage, game setup, stanchions, etc.)
- Guest management: Respond to guests’ requests and answer any questions they may have
- Sweep, mop, and wipe down Event Space before, during, and after events
- Trash removal and maintenance of the venue throughout events
- Stocking bathrooms with soap and paper products
- Event storage and general venue maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and sorting
- Occasional clerical duties, including inputting Open House dates on the website calendar and responding to inquiries

- Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds
- Must be able to work weekends and late hours
- Must be able to troubleshoot A/V issues after training

- Trained in First Aid
- CPR Certified
- Hospitality experience
