Partner – Corporate, Venture Capital and Emerging Growth (any U.S. office, preferred: North Carolina)
About the role
We are seeking a Partner with 7+ years of experience to join our Venture Best team, a dynamic practice focused on venture capital, emerging growth companies, and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting innovative startups and institutional investors across diverse industries, including CleanTech, SaaS, life sciences, cannabis, natural foods, web3, biotech, AI, and data analytics. This role offers the opportunity to work with impactful founders and companies in fast-growing venture ecosystems nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Represent startups and/or institutional investors in venture capital and emerging company transactions, mergers and acquisitions, startup formation, and general corporate governance.
- Triage issues with specialists in tax, intellectual property, employment, and other areas.
- Manage licensing and technology transactions and/or securities matters (experience in these areas is a plus).
- Collaborate with a strong team of associates and specialists to build and serve a diverse client base.
- Maintain a culture of mutual support, respect, and enthusiasm.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with 7+ years of corporate or transactional experience.
- Strong experience in venture capital, emerging company transactions, M&A, startup formation, and corporate governance.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and client management skills.
- Strong academic credentials and verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

Pay
The annual compensation range for this role in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, and Illinois offices starts at $240,000. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and internal equity. Eligibility to participate in the firm’s bonus program is subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
