Venture Associate, AI Lead

About the role

A consumer-focused private equity firm is hiring an Associate, AI Lead to build the intelligent infrastructure that will define how the firm operates across research, investing, and portfolio support. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who combines deep technical AI expertise with genuine interest in the consumer investing ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Unify the firm's CRM, inbound deal flow, and network conversations into a single queryable intelligence layer — a "network intelligence OS"
• Partner with the investment team to develop sector themes, conduct research, and produce structured content that informs investment strategy
• Build a proprietary sourcing engine that monitors the firm's network and the broader consumer landscape to surface relevant brands and companies ahead of traditional deal flow channels
• Work with investment and operations teams to automate portfolio monitoring and reporting
• Build workflows that aggregate and synthesize portfolio company financial and operational data
• Ensure the network intelligence OS serves the platform side of the firm — surfacing insights that enable more meaningful support for portfolio companies
• Act as an embedded resource across the portfolio — identifying where founders and teams are spending time on repetitive work, then building or recommending tooling and talent to streamline it
• Define how the firm runs on AI through what you build, what you measure, and how you improve it over time

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a quantitative role within financial services; buyside investing experience is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Direct, hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents, LLM-powered tools, and automated workflows end-to-end
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Collaborative, low-ego approach — comfortable operating across investment and platform teams and taking on work at any level
• Genuine enthusiasm for consumer brands, founders, and the investing ecosystem

Qualifications

• Experience with data integration, natural language processing, and machine learning
• Knowledge of consumer trends and market dynamics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Skills

• Technical proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or other programming languages
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
• Understanding of consumer brand lifecycle and market dynamics
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
