Vendor Lead Specialist
Job Summary
We combine inside sales/customer service and technical/systems knowledge to sell products, services, and solutions to new and existing customers/accounts through various inbound and outbound multimedia communications leads, including telephone, email, fax, and portals. Our role involves developing, profiling, and managing vendor leads and incoming requests, promoting company options and solutions, identifying sales opportunities, delivering focused market/brand solutions and quotes, and maximizing value for the company.
About the Role
This position requires collaboration with sales teams, teammates (Business Development Representatives - BDRs), and specified vendors to distribute and close leads efficiently. It demands the ability to deliver solutions or find new opportunities for a positive customer experience using independent judgment and sales methodology. It involves initiating and answering sales inquiries directly from/to prospective and/or existing customers, or sellers, to promote product offerings, services, and capabilities for specified vendors.
- Monitors and follows up on sales activities throughout the process to meet or exceed customer requirements from initial contact to order fulfillment.
- Maintains and expands sales with existing accounts through high-level customer service and knowledge, including Distribution Total Available Market (DTAM), projects in pipeline, and critical start dates.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment to coordinate sales efforts and strategies with internal resources such as product, materials, field sales, and suppliers, utilizing Sales Force.
- Communicates effectively with customers regarding current product information and solutions, through incoming vendor leads and established portals.
- Provides accurate and detailed pricing, quotes, and input on products and final solutions.
- Captures existing customer requirements for inventories, delivery lead times, and unit prices.

Education And Certification(s)
Typically requires a minimum of two years of related experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. Possesses thorough knowledge of solutions or assigned products for specific vendors. Exhibits the ability to identify new qualified customers for inclusion in Avnet’s portfolio of smaller and less complex accounts. Intermediate knowledge of systems such as SAP, ERP, order management, Sales Force, and ability to work in portals. Working knowledge of Excel skills allowing for problem solving, formulas, analysis, formatting, and manipulation of data. Working knowledge of Portals, Sales Force, and ERP Systems, MS Word, Excel, and One Note.
