Vending Route Driver (Operations Worker) FT/Benefits

About the role

Navy Exchange in Bremerton, WA, is seeking a Vending Operations Worker (Route Driver) to support the needs of the local Naval community. This position involves monitoring and replenishing vending machines, ensuring compliance with health codes, and maintaining exchange-owned machines.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and replenishes vending machines with hot/cold foods, snacks, beverages, and miscellaneous items.
• Checks refrigerated machines for expired products and removes any spoiled items.
• Operates a motor vehicle for long and short trips across military installations and public roads.
• Maintains assigned vending machines daily.
• Lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Knowledge and skills to operate a motor vehicle safely.
• Pass appropriate background checks, including Federal DOD Security Clearance.
• Pass the GSA defensive driving course.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience, preferably in retail services or similar environments.
• One year of experience in carrying out basic retail services selling duties.
• One year of high school education, substitutable for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience performing duties involving stocking merchandise, transferring, receiving merchandising, and food handling processes in a retail or services environment.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or materials handling equipment.
• Regular walking, bending, reaching required.
