About the role
HireArt is assisting an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company in hiring an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness of its fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize fleet maintenance processes.
- Deliver a world-class service experience.
- Perform high-quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately according to work instructions and document findings/results in a specialized service platform.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
- Inspect and test all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Be willing/able to travel locally from time to time to configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
- Absorb parts/tools inventory, location, and organization, ensuring that technician tools and shop facilities are in excellent working condition.
- Perform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team, if required.
- Absorb paperwork and documentation by maintaining service records and documenting quality field reports.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technician experience
- Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles/automotive systems
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must pass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screen
- Must comply with the Substance Abuse policy
- Able to multitask and manage multiple projects and deliverables
- Reliable self-starter with a "roll up the sleeves" work ethic
- An outstanding communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Must be honest and responsible with a team player spirit
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods (8+ hours) depending on the equipment type
- To obtain and successfully pass company-provided forklift and/or gantry operator certification after hire, in compliance with Cal/OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
- ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification
- Experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems and embedded modules, including self-driving systems and sensor stacks
- Diagnostics troubleshooting experience with OEM systems, including high-level experience working with: HV systems and hybrid drivetrains, CAN/LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension
- Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance and OEM maintenance items
- Experience traveling locally and nationally (on occasion)

Schedule
- First Shift - Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Second Shift - Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday, 4:00 PM-1:00 AM
