Vehicle Porter

About the role

Penske Vehicle Services is the largest fleet solutions provider for automotive original equipment manufacturers. The Porter provides support functions aligned with Mechanical, Paint, Quality, and Company Vehicle Operations, including moving vehicles on public roads, organizing vehicles in lots, and performing various vehicle maintenance and inspection tasks.

Responsibilities

• Organize vehicles in parking lots according to lot numbering
• Move company vehicles to appropriate locations
• Fuel, vacuum, and clean/wash company vehicles
• Perform physical inspections of used vehicles
• Receive new vehicles, inspecting for damage and cleanliness
• Assist in the exchange process of vehicles being dropped off or picked up
• Reconcile vehicle shippers and record VIN numbers to match with the inventory system
• Shuttle technical personnel between work locations
• File vehicle paperwork and complete other office tasks
• Follow all company policies relating to safe driving
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent driving record (less than 4 points on driving record)
• Able to drive a manual transmission (preferred but not required)
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Capable written and oral communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Lifting requirements: 5–25 lbs
• Moderate to high level of physical activity
