Vehicle Operator (#022108) Manning Reentry/Work Release Center, Columbia (RICHLAND) Level 1

Job Responsibilities

• Transport inmates to and from assigned work sites.
• Conduct prescribed security checks on the vehicle and inmates.
• Visually inspect inmates for contraband.
• Communicate effectively at all times.
• Complete all required documentation, including the monthly trip log, SCDC form 14-50, and SCDC form 20-12.
• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is fueled, cleaned, and properly parked in its designated parking space after each shift.
• Return all equipment and facility keys to the control room upon completing duty.
• Participate in monthly reviews or meetings to evaluate procedures and recommend improvements to enhance future operations.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

• A high school diploma.
• Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment.
