Vehicle Lot Assistant
About the role
Assist with vehicle lot organization ensuring orderliness, efficiency, and cleanliness of the vehicle lot. Inspect all incoming units according to standard. Ensure a complete transition of documents and equipment with the receiving department.
Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough pre-delivery inspection for all incoming vehicles, ensuring all tasks and checklists are complete and presented intact to the receiving department.
- Efficiently move and arrange vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
- Retrieve and deliver vehicles from property locations.
- Keep the lot organized and vehicles parked in such a way as to minimize chances for damage to occur.
- Ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently, key tasks include:
- Ensures delivery drivers properly notate any defects
- Verification and notation of keys, owner's manuals, etc.
- Tag vehicle windshield & key tags accurately
- Install any required safety tape
- Reports incoming vehicle damage to Transportation Manager for determination of repair strategy
- Ensure vehicles are locked and secure at the end of the day
- Assemble all load paperwork for dispatched loads
- Get paperwork to driver ensuring that correct loads are distributed to transporter
- Coordinate and secure keys in an orderly manner
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, complex operating and work instructions and procedures manuals.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Previous valet /lot attendant/vehicle dealership experience preferred
- Able to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
