Lot Assistant
About the role
Reporting to the Lead Lot Operations or other designated manager, you will assist with outside functions to support lot movements and general operations before, during, and after sale day. You will assist on the lot, including driving the service truck, lot tow truck (non-DOT), and forklift, to ultimately maintain accurate inventory flow and ensure vehicle readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lot Operations Support: Prepare and stage vehicles for sale, including stickering (run and customer stickers), marking vehicles on the spot, moving vehicles using a lot tow truck or forklift, and operating the service truck to support the driver team.
- Inventory Accuracy: Scan the lot and use electronic devices to record the movement of vehicles on the property.
- Vehicle Readiness: Assist with vehicle readiness tasks such as jumping vehicles and adding fluids (gas, water, etc), adding air to tires, and verifying vehicle status while maintaining accurate lot organization.
- Property Management: Handle the removal of personal property from vehicles.
- Operational Flow: Communicate with shop and operations teams to ensure an efficient flow of inventory from vehicle check-in to the auction sale line.
- Customer & Admin Support: Provide customer service support and coordinate with administrative teams to ensure efficient execution of sale day activities.
- Vehicle Identification: Confirm vehicle mileage, make year, and VIN to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain work areas to ensure a safe environment and report any incidents or hazards to the designated manager.
- General Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license that meets the requirements.
- Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes, including tow trucks, forklifts, and the service truck.
- Automotive or auction experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and applications.
- Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
