Qualifications
Education/Experience: Valid driver’s license, preferred.
Experience working with children, preferred.

Physical
- Must be able to physically assist students entering and exiting the vehicle.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, and communicate (vision, hearing, and speech) to effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities.
- Ability to independently ambulate in and around work areas.
- Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support.
- Ability to exhibit appropriate manual dexterity to effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time (3 hours).
- Must be able to push and pull wheelchairs safely and attach wheelchairs safely to vehicles for transportation to and from assigned schools.

Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
- Cordially greets students upon arrival at vehicle.
- Affords assistance to students entering and exiting the vehicle.
- Ensures safe conduct on the vehicle to and from school.
- Assists the driver in any emergency situation.
- Completes reports and paperwork required by the Transportation Department accurately and by given timelines.
- Learns vehicle run locations on assigned run.
- Reports unsafe conduct on vehicle by completing an incident report and following department procedures on an as needed basis.
- Reports vehicle accidents by completing an accident form and following department procedures.
- Courteous to parents, students, and classroom staff.
- Recognizes individual student capabilities and exceptions while maintaining order on the bus and while administering to students' individual needs, as required.
- Occupies a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in motion.
- Provides appropriate intervention in conflict situations according to CPI standards; notifies supervisor when necessary.
- Collects student’s personal items left on the bus and turns them over to school officials.
Secondary
- Satisfactorily performs and/or carries out all functions/responsibilities/tasks assigned by the Transportation Supervisor, Transportation Manager, or Director of Transportation Services.
