This is an onsite contract role based in Greensboro, NC, anticipated to last 6 months with strong potential for extension. Schedule is first-shift Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a strategic vehicle architecture assessment focused on evaluating reuse, scalability, and integration opportunities across multiple vehicle platforms.
  • Analyze existing vehicle architectures and identify carry-over opportunities, component reuse strategies, and required modifications to support future product applications.
  • Evaluate the impact of configuration changes on vehicle performance characteristics, packaging, integration complexity, cost, manufacturability, and overall product strategy.
  • Develop and compare alternative platform and architecture concepts, providing recommendations for future product development and implementation paths.
  • Assess system integration implications, including structural interfaces, feature compatibility, subsystem interactions, and platform scalability.
  • Analyze sensor integration concepts, installation strategies, and field-of-view considerations for future vehicle implementations.
  • Perform technical tradeoff studies and provide recommendations based on risk, cost, complexity, performance, and time-to-market considerations.
  • Create executive-level decision materials, engineering assessments, risk analyses, and roadmap recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, systems, product development, manufacturing, and program management teams.
  • Support long-term product architecture and platform strategy development by providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • Drive engineering alignment across stakeholders while maintaining an independent and objective assessment approach.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in vehicle architecture, systems engineering, product architecture, platform engineering, or whole-vehicle integration.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle platform development, systems integration, and architecture planning.
  • Experience evaluating product carry-over opportunities, component reuse strategies, and platform scalability.
  • Background performing feature impact assessments, delta-part analysis, and technical feasibility studies.
  • Knowledge of packaging considerations, structural integration, subsystem interactions, and vehicle performance impacts.
  • Experience supporting roadmap development, product strategy, and long-term platform planning initiatives.
  • Ability to translate complex engineering analysis into clear recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead highly complex technical studies and influence cross-functional organizations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience creating executive-level reports, technical assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), sensor integration, or perception systems.
  • Experience supporting commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, automotive, or complex mobility platforms.
  • Background in manufacturing strategy, service strategy, aftermarket planning, or lifecycle management.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead, coach, mentor, or architecture subject matter expert.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to balance technical, operational, and business objectives.
