Vegetation Trimmer / Foreman - Tennessee

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist in manual labor tasks associated with utility vegetation management and tree trimming.
• Ensure proper execution of all vegetation trimming work orders.
• Assign, schedule, and oversee the daily work of tree trimming crews.
• Manage traffic control and oversee safe removal of limbs and brush.
• Perform low-level limb removals not requiring climbing.
• Direct and assist in pruning, topping, tree removal, bracing, transplanting, and land clearing operations.
• Operate and train crew on proper use of saws, sprayers, and other related equipment.
• Mentor and train new team members on safety protocols, proper techniques, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a safe job site and enforce all company policies and safety procedures.
• Perform additional manual labor and field duties as needed.

Qualifications And Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tree trimming or vegetation management.
• Experience in a utility environment is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in the use of equipment such as power saws, hand saws, sprayers, and chainsaws.
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and utility groundwork required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background screenings.

• Strong understanding of tree trimming principles and OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to climb trees and work at heights when needed.
• Effective leadership, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making abilities.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
• Self-starter able to manage field crews with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in interpreting work orders, utility layouts, and job specifications.
• Capable of processing and analyzing operational data.

Physical Requirements

• Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, standing, and repetitive hand movements.
• Closed visual acuity is required for tree inspection and detailed work.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel long distances on short notice.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
