Vegetation Control Spray Technician (Portage) - MDARD VEGETATION Licenses REQUIRED

About the role

This role is managed by the Branch in Portage but work in the Battle Creek area may also be done. In this role you would meet at the Portage Branch to receive assignments for the day and then leave the branch and head where your jobs for that day are in a Company Vehicle. This is NOT an entry level position.

Responsibilities

• Meet at the Portage Branch to receive assignments for the day
• Leave the branch and head to job sites in a Company Vehicle
• Meet and take direction from the Spray Foreman
• Provide instruction to other members of the spray crew
• Perform spray application of chemicals
• Possess an awareness of and commit to Chemical Safety
• Follow instructions accurately

Requirements

• State—issued MDARD pesticide licenses
• Valid Driver's License
• Chauffeur’s Endorsement
• Minimum of 1 year Landscape Pesticide Technician experience
• DOT Medical card (preferred)

Qualifications

• Obtained a QAL
• Basic knowledge of plant material
• Able to communicate in English & Spanish – oral and written

Skills

• Knowledge of chemical safety
• Ability to follow instructions

Pay

Starting Pay Range for this role is $19 - $22 per hour and could increase depending upon previous work experience and any certifications/licenses you hold.
