Key Responsibilities
- Creating and updating detailed 3D models of electrical systems using BIM software.
- Facilitating communication between field and BIM Technicians by reviewing field markups and ensuring all the information needed for modeling is being captured.
- Integrating design information from various disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) into the 3D model.
- Identifying and resolving spatial conflicts or clashes between different building components using clash detection tools.
- Evaluating the feasibility of construction based on the 3D model and providing feedback to improve the design.
- Generating drawings, schedules, and visualizations from the 3D model to support construction planning and execution.
- Collaborating with VDC project managers, engineers, supervisors, and construction project managers to ensure alignment between digital designs and on-site realities.
- Providing 3D visualizations, clash reports, and other information to aid decision-making and project execution.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Experience using Navisworks.
- Sound understanding of electrical construction methods and terminology, building codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret electrical design information.
- Problem-solving skills to address clashes and constructability issues.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to manage single tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
- Electrical construction experience.
- Understanding of BIM principles and workflows desired.
- Experience with the use of 3D modeling software.
